Sometimes we want some links on our webpage clicking on which we get directed to or taken to another page. We can place such links in various forms. Such links that are used on our webpage are called as Hyperlink.

When we are talking about hyperlinks we can use Text, Images or Flash Banners. But our target is to direct our viewers to a certain destination page. According to research Text ads has higher capability of getting clicks then Images or Banners. People just feel a little Stingy about clicking on an Image ad or on a Flash Banner.

So we would suggest you to use Text Ads. Following is a Short Visual Tutorial on how you can set a Text Hyperlink. You can in fact use the same procedure to set Image Hyperlink.

Step1: First of all select the text you want to set as Hyperlink. Then Right Click on just top of it. A menu like you see below will appear. This menu is called the drop down menu. Select the option 'Hyperlink'.

Please Mind that the image below is from MS Word 2003, on different version the location of the 'Hyperlink' Option might be different. If you are using another software like MS FrontPage or Dream Weaver even then the location of 'Hyperlink' option can be different.

But we would suggest you to use MS word itself.

In other cases the HTML code of hyperlink was mentioned on the former page.

Step2:When you have clicked on the Hyperlink option from the Drop Down menu a window like the one below will appear. This is called Insert Hyperlink Window.

Now take a look at the Areas marked in the picture below. At the bottom is the option Address. Like you can see in the Image this is the field where you have to insert your affiliate link. The Address here means the web Address which you want your visitors to reach. And of course it would be your affiliate link.

The next marked field at the upper part of the image is Text to display: this is exactly the text your hyperlink will bear. Here certain condition appear.

Condition1: Here since you have already selected the text for your hyperlink, this field will by default show your selected text.

Condition2: Now if you alter this field with some other text like "Visit the Site" then the text "Click Here" that you initially selected will be replaced with "Visit the Site" when you click OK.

Condition3: But if you have Right Clicked on a blank form without having selected any text then by default it sets your Address as your 'Text to display'. In such a case you would like to put some text of your own in the 'Text to display' field.

Step3: This is optional and completely depends on your choice. If look at the right side of the Insert Hyperlink window you will notice an option as 'Target Window'. You might see this only for MS Word and MS FrontPage.

Target Frame decides where your Targeted webpage will open. Will it open in the same window that is the window of your webpage itself or will it open in a new window.

*Now selecting Page Default will take your Default Page option.

*Selecting Same Frame or Whole page will open the link in your page itself.

*But if you select New Window it will open our webpage in a new window.

If you do not alter this option then it will follow your page default. Choice is yours.

Step4: Whet ever choice you make will appear at the bottom of the Insert Hyperlink window as "Target frame: xyz". Here we have selected "New window".

And then you will see text like this: Click Here

We hope now you are clear about Hyperlink.
